Dare To Be the Subject is an editorial portrait series centered on presence, self-permission, and visibility. This work invites individuals to step forward — not as a version of themselves shaped for others, but as they are, in the moment they choose to be seen.
Each portrait is created with intention and space, allowing expression to unfold naturally rather than be performed. The focus is not perfection, posing, or polish, but confidence, truth, and quiet power. These images explore what happens when someone stops hiding behind roles, expectations, or stories, and simply allows themselves to exist as the subject.
This project reflects Corie Rose’s approach to portraiture as an experience — one rooted in trust, connection, and emotional honesty — where being seen is not something to earn, but something to claim.
